In order for our users & customers to interact with our servers, they need to be able to access them. When accessing our servers, the following activities take:
• Your IP address is logged with the activity.
• Your username & time of login is logged.
• Any files that you upload, view, and/or download are logged.
This information is collected via our access logs as well as any error logs generated by our servers, which may include personal data (i.e., your IP or other information). This information is necessary for providing services such as file sharing and a forum to its users while protecting the rights & property of our business, website(s), employees, and partners. It also allows us to:
• Ensure that there are no unlawful activities taking place on our servers; Make sure that we can defend ourselves in court if (despite all this) unlawful activities were still taking place;
• Allow us to cooperate in catching offenders & taking them to court (we are forced by law to give information about our servers and the people using them).
• Finally, we use this information for statistical analysis in order to measure user activity and improve what we offer.
What is "personal data" under GDPR legislation?
